  • More detailed smoke and flame

Probably quite a noob question..apologies...im still very new to Phoenix.

My fire and smoke always seems to come out quite puffy and not really very detailed. I did check the Phoenix help file which says about altering the transparency to create the illusion of a bigger resolution but I cant even work out how to do that...

Any help with pictures would be really appreciated

Well, you can play with the transparency/opacity curves in Phoenix render settings dialog.
Basically if you switch between simple smoke and smoke, you can see the difference.
Smoke "preset" looks a lot like cigarette smoke. Then you could start to play with the opacity curve
to see how it affects. Just remember to keep left one at 0, otherwise you will get the whole simulator filled with smoke.

For adding details, I'd just increase the simulation resolution first and then fine tune it with curves.
