  • Liquid artifacts...

    Hi guys,

mybe you already encountered this kind of artifacts (the attachment below)

    The simulation is made with:
    Quality 60
    Max step 4
    SPF upper 10
    SPF lower 2

    Scene Interaction:
    Inscribed
    Transformation Only

I tried also different values and the result is almost the same.
Do you have some good advice?
    Thanks.

You must use render gizmo to remove the extra parts of the cells.

In that rendering are already on "Use Gizmo" and "Invert Gizmo" (i aslo tried without Invert)

What i can try more? Can be the glass geometry thickness?

      Thanks.

what is the voxel mode? the gizmo is useless if the simulation is performed using circumscribed voxel mode.

Voxel mode is Inscribed, as i wrote above.

Are you working in Maya? The gizmo can be only a simple mesh. Nurbs do not work, subdivs will use only the base mesh which probably don't have enough details. Yet another possible reason in Maya is incompatible VRay version. You can check the beer example which shows exactly how to handle this problem. If it has these artifacts also, you should try to update your VRay, or get older Phoenix.

Yes i work in Maya vray plug-in version 2.25.01

Phoenix FD for Maya 2013, version 2.0.0 Beta from Oct 29 2012, 12:24:51, revision 22462

I checked the beer examples and follow exactly the settings...
The glass is polygonal with enough polygons, mybe are to many?

              Thanks.

the polygons count is not a problem, i suppose it's better to send us the scene to check the problem here

                  Thanks,

this is the scene, and let me know if the versions for Vray and Phoenix are compatible

I can't see the glass attached as a render gizmo. The Gizmo attribute should show a text (i.e. "glass_Ref"). After setting it, it renders fine (the other settigns are right).

I can't really tell you which nighly builds are compatible since we are changing some rarely used parts of the SDK often. The official verions of Phoenix should work with 2.1. 2.2 and 2.3, However most of the nightly builds are called 2.25. This is why I told you to check the beer example. If it renders fine, the problem is not the build. Aside from this, you should be OK to use nithly builds of VRay and Phoenix from similar dates.

you are right, was not attached and now works.
i find still some artifact with subdivision, if you convert to Polygons than it's right.

                      Thanks again.

Yes, I was suspecting this. We should support subdivisions, but there is no time for 2.1.
