  • Phoenix simulation as particles

I have to create a massive dust cloud "the size of a small planet", I was wanting to know if there was a way of using phoenix simulations as a particles so to fake more detail. If not I was thinking of going the "AfterBurn or Pyrocluster" rout. Opinions please.

i'm not sure what you mean with "as particles", perhaps you can do it with phoenix. int this video 50M particles are used to represent the smoke. as i understand you need static smoke, not moving. in this case you can try to use displacement of low res smoke ball with cellular or noise texture.

I didn't know you could displace the smoke, I thought this was just for solid surfaces. Thanks, will give it a try!
