  • Phoenix and atmospheric passes

The bubbles do some strange stuff with the atmospherics-pass and it's hardly usable that way ... we used a Vray-Environment fog here. The beautypass is ok, though.

By the way, did you consider generating some separate Phoenix-Renderelements? Could be great to extract Emission separately etc. Some Z-Channel for Phoenix would be great (which obviously is difficult for a cloud system) ... .

well, two atmospheres in one is always a problem.
try to replace the fog with a huge phoenix container, the phoenix components can blend with each other
if you have nightly access you can render the foam in geometry mode and then you have render elements. and the render elements of course are advantage, we have to add them

      Hi,
      concerning two atmospherics:

      A) Since we rendered a meshed ocean, I assumed (wrongly) , it's not really an atmosphere we are looking at ( assuming that the bubbles would behave likewise ).

      B) Additionally we always had difficulties with GI and Phoenix, if you remember ... did something change there ?

      Best, Peter

the ocean itself is not an atmosphere, but the foam is
btw, i would recommend to use bigger count of particles and to render them in point mode. the foam/splash modes are good only for closeup views

          Thank you!

Will try that in our next project. Best, Peter
