  • PHXFoam doesn´t work when foam isn´t enabled in preview

Ok, so I´ve run into a small annoying bug: Since I wanted to use the same splash/foam settings over a couple of shots with the same fluid sim, I just imported the helpers and PHX foam objects from another file and picked the appropriate grids.
But after rendering those all seemed to have rendered black. I was already wondering why it didn´t offer me the dialog that usually pops up upon picking the grid, asking me if I want to choose foam or splashes from that grid.
The solution I found was, that foam/splashes need to be enabled in the preview of the grid before you pick it.

It´s just a little thing, but a note in the help file would be nice.

Also I just found the preset buttons in the Foam object, so maybe I just use that one in the future instead of importing Foam objects from another file...

very interesting, what text stays on the face of the particle system slot when you pick the grid and the dialog is not popped up? did you reselected the particle systems after the splash were enabled in the viewport?

As far as I remember the slot just doesn´t update at all, so it says whatever it says before picking...which can be irritating - if the name of the particle system was the same in the scene it was imported from, you think it has correctly chosen it.
After enabling preview in viewport and reselecting the particle system, it pops out the dialog and works correctly.
