  • Foam not calculated for all frames

I tried rendering my first animation with Phoenix using "medium animation" settings. For some reason, my foam was only calculated for every 4th frame in the animation. I'm not really sure where to start to figure this one out. Under the Input tab I did select the first .aur file. I also reduced the time scale to .5 and am using the default foam settings I believe. Images attached showing 2 consecutive images from the animation. Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Sorry. Yes I did. I calculated the prepass with the Irr. maps and lightcache the used the animation rendering setting with the created irradiance maps.

i still have no idea why the foam is not rendered by bb, but every problem starting with the phrase "i have X every n-th frame" is related to bb
ok, we have to check the rendering with bb. for now you can use the DR system of vray

That makes sense. I did a test rendering of one of the frames that didn't have the foam from the network renderings. I rendered it locally but still using the irr maps I created. Same result, no foam. It seems like I may have inadvertently changed a setting somewhere, but I'm not really sure. I am using Phoenix for Vray 3.0 "phoenixFD_adv_21010_max2014_vray_30_x64_24273 ".

To render an animation with DR, would I still create the individual irr map files in the same way as I would for BB?

So as I was inspecting my scene, I noticed that as I was dragging my slider the foam was appearing every 4th frame as well. Strange, but I do think that the foam was only calculated for every 4th frame. Anything in the Phoenix settings I could check?

One more thing I just noticed...I recalculated the simulation of the scene. During the calculation I saw the splash and foam working. When completed, I dragged my slider to look at the different frames and again many are missing. The strange thing is that under the "simulation" tab in the "content" window foam and splash disappear accordingly.
