PhoenixFD DR slaves can't see the cache

Hi,

I just installed phoenixFD 2.2 and like before with 2.1, I can't render phoenix liquid woth DR. The dr slaves don't see the cache eand they just render nothing in place of the liquid.

it's not the usual local path issue as i understand?

My paths are setup like this:

resimulation input: $(simoutput)

resimulation output: \\SASORI\PhoeniFDcache\subEauSplash\resim\subeauSp lashResim

output: \\SASORI\Projets3D_SASORI\SPB_subEau\3dsmax\scenes \testSplash\testSplash_v001_001.max_Phoenix2_frame s\ND9_PhoenixFD001

input: $(simoutput)


When I render, the used path will be the resimulation output right?

Ok I just noticed we can see the resolved path just under the text input box. MY input path $(simoutput) resolves as \\SASORI\PhoeniFDcache\subEauSplash\resim\subeauSp lashResim

I thought $(simoutput) would always resolves as the path written in the output text box...

So I guess if I input the resolved path in the input text box, DR will work.

the path used for the rendering depends on the resimulation checkbox state. if the resimulation is enabled, the resimulation cache files are used.
are you using the official build? i think there was a similar complain few weeks ago. can't remember exactly.

you mean no matter simulation or resimulation, it does not render?

Instead of using shortcut like $(simoutput) I used the full unc path in all the boxes and the DR slaves just render black where there should be water.

I understand all this, but anyway I am now using all unc paths manually inputted everywhere and my dr slaves still don't see the path. When I render the same scene on the network without DR, it works on all slaves. And My DR work with vray for everything except PhoenixFD

ok, i hope until the end of the day we will have the answer
we will try to reproduce it from scratch, but just for case can you send us the scene or prepare a small one that produces the issue ?

is it possible to be a permission problem?
can you connect to some render slave with remote desctop, and just to ensure that the cache files are really visible, open them by notepad or what you find just to be sure

My permissions on the cache folder are the same as usual. And since it render by normal network rendering I guess the permissions are ok. Also my vrayspawner services are all logged in with my credentials.
