  • loss of water over time

    Hi there,

we have to simulate liquid in a cone, which is mixed by a long kind of screw. The cone is open on the top and closed on the bottom.

We set the liquid parameters to:

    sharpness: 1
    viscosity: 0,3
    non-newtonian: 0,5

    material transfer method: Slow moving
    SPF: 6 / 10

The Problem is, that we loose a lot of water over time. With 6 SPF after 200 Frames there was only about a third left. 50 Frames later it was almost back to the amount from the beginning.
With 10 SPF the differences seem to be less but they are still easily noticeable. And of course the simulation time increased a lot.

Should I continue increasing the SPF until there is no more loss? What value would be the maximum after which there will be no more improvement?
Is there another setting I should change??? Maybe one that doesn't increase the simulation time as much?

try with forward transfer spf=10, conservation method smooth, quality 30,

thanks for these values. I tried them but now I get a lot more liquid over time. Around 300 Frames into the simulation I have like twice as much. Could I reduce the SPF to reduce the liquid or would this make no sense?

you have increasing liquid with forward transfer? are you sure?
send me the scene if there is no mistake

yes I kind of do. here is the scene. At frame 550 I paused the simulation and hid the screw to let the liquid settle. And I had a lot more liquid than at the beginning. Real magic there

            Hi,

Thanks for uploading the scene file.
Actually I'm not able to replicate the issue in my simulation tests. Please see the result i got:
            test_.zip

it is a zipped .mp4 file.

Which Phoenix version you are using ?
