  • Is there a way to fade out Particles in Point Mode?

    Hi,
iam on a Ink in Water Like scene i use Particles and the Point mode.
The problem is i can´t get them to fade out to the borders of the simulator and a specific objekt.
I would like to use the Distance Tex but i can´t get the Phoenix Particle Texture Map to work.
I just see what the PHX Foam Operators do, but the Phoenix Particle Texture Map dosend overwrite the PHX Foam settings.
If i delete the PHX Foam no particles get shaded.

there is no way to modulate the opacity of the particles in the foam shader, that's really a shame, because it's very easy to implement it. we have only age modulation of the particle size, eventually we can modify this option to have three states - none, by age, by map

      Damn,
but whats about the size of the particles?
At witch Size drag Particles get emitted? Its hard to deal with the minimum size and size Multiplier without knowing the incomming size...
I have to fade them out at least dependent on Particle Age...

And for what is the Particle tex when i can´t assign it to the Particles? Only for the Environment and Reflection color of Splash and Foam?

        the drag particles have size=0.1
the particle texture is not to be applied to the foam shader, it was introduced to use it for better fluid mapping, actually it "draws" the particles into the 3d space. if you apply it on some material, you wil see white zones near to the particles
actually you can use it to render particles by the smoke shader. make the smoke color uniform white, put the particle texture to be used as opacity source and you will see the particles. you need a dummy empty simulation with high resolution, only one frame is enough

Can this be a Solution for my Problem or is it just the explanation of the particle texture?

perhaps it can be a solution, if you use very high grid resolution. you have to use the official build, because we have some work to do on the particle texture, now it works with single particle group and we are in process to change it to use list of particle groups
