  • turbulence not affecting splash particles outside sim box

    attempting to give water splash drops more natural motion with some wind turbulence. this is using resim.

    is there a way to create variation in the velocity (direction + speed) of splash particles once they leave the grid box? currently, they are only affected inside the box and once they leave they continue in straight lines.

    we're looking for almost any solution.

    currently no, the splash particles are not affected by the turbulence forces at all. inside the box it looks like they are affected, because the forces affect the air and the air affects the particles by the air friction. in general it's not supposed the particles to have complex behavior outside the grid. it's just to prevent the clamping when the splash particles leave for a while the box, and also for foam trails after moving objects (ships, boats, etc)

      hi Ivaylo - thx for the info. would there be any possible trick to push the particles around after they leave the box? a way to access their positions and alter their trajectories? anything really. thanks!

        well, i think this can be arranged relatively easy. we will consider it, hopefully in few days you can have it.
