  • Slightly annoying issue with Phoenix and Frost

    Hi,

I've come across an issue which is not major, just slightly annoying.

I'm not sure if it's something that can be fixed at the Phoenix end, or is the way Frost works.

Basically if you are using PhoenixFD particles as a frost source, to render correctly, PhoenixFD has to be selected at render time, otherwise it just renders the frame you are on.

I've checked update when particles update in Frost, but it doesn't make a difference.

I'm not on Frost maintenance, but ver 1.3.6 - however the release history doesn't mention anything to do with PhoenixFD...

    Thanks,

    Steve

hi, is this valid only for single frame, of the same happens with sequences?

      Hi

it happens with sequences as well, you have to have the PhoenixFD grid selected for frost to render the animated source, otherwise it just renders the last frame it was updated on.

            Hi Steve,

can you please check if "Only if selected" under the Preview tab of Phoenix is checked.
If so try unchecking it and see if it still does not update.

well, the fact that the rendering depends on this switch is very strange, it should affect only the displaying in the viewport. i think it's a bug in our side, will make some tests today.
