  • Foam not rendering?

I'm having an issue with foam not rendering. Not really sure what the problem is. At first I thought it may be scale related, but that's fine. Then I thought it may be material related, but I can't really identify anything wrong with that either.

If you have a look at the the front of the tug, there is a tiny bit of foam rendered, but nothing near what the preview foam particles are suggesting. Granted, this particular render is on the shadow side, but I thought it would be a bit more obvious. Any tips? I've simulated this a few times now, increasing the birthing rate of the foam from the splash panel, but it's really not affecting much in the final render (just more preview particles simulated).

Try to rize particle scale in foam shader.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Could you explain where exactly? There seems to be many places where I can increase the particle size. Also, will this require re-simulation to see the effect? Thanks for your response

i suppose you have no foam shader, this is the object called PHXFoam , it's beside the simulator button. in the viewport the object looks like hemisphere made of strips, you need such an object to render the foam, unlike the water and smoke, the foam is not rendered by the simulator.

          Hi Ivaylo

The PHXFoam object is there, just off screen. Here's the rollout parameters for it, anything look off to you?

          Thanks

Ok, just worked out my problem. The check box for "liquid" should be unchecked. From the Help documentation it seems to suggest that this only corrects bubbles beneath the surface, which may be true in this case - but they don't look like they're beneath the surface. Oh well, problem solved!

really there must be at least some bubbles above the water.
