  • Rebusfarm Problem: "PhoenixFD simulation files not found (input rollout)"

    Hi!

I'm trying to render an animation via Rebusfarm (3DS Max 2015 / Phoenix nightly build). Whenever I try to upload it to Rebus, I get the VRay Error "PhoenixFD simulation files not found (input rollout)".

It works fine with local renders.

Could the nightly build be the problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    denx

Edit: I sent an E-Mail to the Rebusfarm support, too.

    Another question regarding this problem:

What do I have to do, to export the Phoenix Simulation to an animated VRay Mesh?

OK. I got the VRay Proxy. Is there any chance to import the hole Proxy with its animation as a mesh?

not sure about the proxy, but the network rendering needs network mapped location, for more details see here

So Rebus supports Phoenix FD? That'd be great.

Yes, they do, although it does not really work for me at the moment.

well, can you tell us how exactly the input path is specified? seems like the rebus software analyzes the input path and transfers the cache files to the farm, and it is not sure that all the cases are well handled

Yes, could you please give us the path that is in the input panel, and how the names of your cache files look.

Also, are they freshly simulated? Which version of phoenix are they simulated with (check the About dialog on the simulation panel)?

                    Hi,

the path that is in the input channel looks like this: "X:\projects\project_1234\scenes\project_phoenix_f iles\ND1234_0000.aur".

I'm using a nightly build of the current version (12.03.2015), because I need the flip method in my project.

Rebusfarm support thinks, that the nightly build could be the problem, because they only use stable versions.

i think this is the expanded path, we need to know not it, but the setting. there are two text fields, the upper one is that is interesting for us

Definitely the problem is that you are using a nightly build.

Try typing in an input path:
                        "X:\projects\project_1234\scenes\project_phoen ix_f iles\ND1234"
and see if this makes any difference on the farm - note that with this path you won't be able to see the cache files with the nightly, but it should trick the render farm.

A little step forward. Rebus starts to upload the Phoenix files, but neither on rebusfarm nor on my local workstation the liquid is rendered with this path. Local I have to turn it back to ".../ND1234_####.aur" to render the liquid.

Edit: It works, when you convert the Phoenix to a VRay Mesh/Proxy. The "normal" way would be great, though.

Well yes, since the render farm has the official version, that old Phoenix couldn't possible know what is the format of the newer scene from the nightly build. New Phoenix versions support the old, but vice versa it's impossible to keep everything working.

                              You are right, of course!

I just wantet to say, that I could not render the phoenix liquid with this path on my local workstation with the nightly build either. I have to set the path to the .aur-file.
