  • Sequence cannot be rendered - PhoenixFD 2.2 / Vray 2.4, Linux Centos 7

    Hi

I have a problem with reading the cache files correct in maya. Maya 2015 x64 running on Centos 7.
When I want to render a sequence it looks like only one frame is loading and cannot read it from the disk.

In the PhoenixFD 2.2 for Maya nightly 2.2.0 rev: 25989 I still cannot render animation sequence. Sinlge frames rendering just fine.

The same situation is with newest night build - PhoenixFD 2.2 for Maya nightly 2.2.0 rev: 26060 still the same problem unfortunatelly ;((( it render only one frame instead of whole sequence - looks like next cache frames ( only one frame showing in the viewport ) cannot be load.
No errors shown in script editor

    Greetings

I'm checking also with todays build ( 26061) but I cannot even load a cache from morning simulation. It doesn't detect any caches at all.
What could be the reason for that ? Maybe an extra button will resolve that in the sim button like : Load cache sim ?

    greetings

Well, they still can't fix the bug, with linux paths. So any cache that point to f.e. /mnt/blabla in resulting vrscene will look like mnt/blabla and vray won't read it. The only workaround is to manually add the missing /..... So freaking funny.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

but where I can add " / " it ? In the input sim It looks like I have only partially paths shown . Any paths are not possible to show ... too long path restriction or somethg ?

When i Add a " / " sign before my data / to the paths cache is not showing anymore . After when i delete a " / " sign cache is showing again but only a few frames no update anymore on whole cache etc.

set the path manually, by default it is related to the scene folder

                The windows/linux workflow currently is: //share/folder -> \shate\folder

                  Hello,

Can you get us a screenshot of your setup and what version of V-Ray are you using for rendering?

                    Hi czaps,
I tried to reproduce you problem, but I am not able to. Can you send a maya scene that we can use to reproduce the problem.
                    My setup is V-Ray 2.45, CentOS 7, Maya 2015

                    Best,
                    Yordan

I found a problem to be "half solved" in 26104 nightlies PhoenixFD for Maya 2015.
After whole sequence simulated there is no chance to render sequence straight away. However It plays and loads on the Maya viewport properly.
With Vray 2.4 - cache doesn't seem to load doesn't matter if I set a proper playback range , playing with " / " etc.

The only solution works fine for me is to ReOpen the scene and cache is then visible to render with Vray.
I can attach a scene file but I will have to load it via external linked.

                      cheers

                        Hi Czaps,
In today's nightly builds for PhoenixFD for Maya, we made a fix that can solve your problem. I suggest you to update to most recent nightles of

                        V-Ray 2.0 for Maya \ nightlies \ 2015 07 14
                        Phoenix FD for Maya beta \ nightlies \ 2015 08 10

If this does not cure you problem, please send as a scene, that we can use to investigate.

                        Cheers,
                        Yordan
