  • Alpha problem

Im sure its something Im missing somewhere, but with trying to get my head around phoenix I thought it would be fun to try the fire on the dragon sample scene that comes with max. Anyway Im using v-Ray 3.20.02 and phoenix nightly phoenixFD_adv_22000_max2016_vray_30_x64_26465 and hopefully the photos below explain more than I can but is there something Im missing to have the fire affect the alpha? Im getting some weird artifacts and cant figure out why.

    Here is the RGB plate:

For the alpha, you'll have to go to the Fire and Smoke options in the rendering panel and change the fire opacity mode to something other than 'Fully visible' - check out this thread: http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...ire-with-alpha

For the artifacts, though, could you screenshot your render settings and we'll try to reproduce it with the max sample scene.

If you want to shoot me a pm I can zip up the file or upload it to your FTP which may be easier.

by default the fire has no alpha, to change this use the fire opacity option
