  • Liquid simulation artifacts

First, I am running PhoenixFD 2.2 official release, and I cannot change to nightly builds.

The problem is some sort of artifacts in the simulation. The "ice taps" marked in the image are staying just like that for several seconds in the animation. It is currently running, so I don`t know how long they will last. What can the reason for this be?

The object is a full size boat (60 meters long)
    Grid: 580x1251x82 - Cell size:10 - 59,5 million cells
    Symmetric with quality: 80
    Vorticity: 0,3
    Randomize: 0
    Sharpness: 1,0
    Viscosity: 0
    Non-newtonian: 0
    Surface tension: 0
    Strong surface mode: Disabled

the liquid-geometry contact in version 2.2 produces this kind of artifacts because is grid based. the usual way to beat them is to use inscribed voxel mode, that just hides them under the geometry surface.
but i have the feeling that in your case the inscribed voxelization will not help. the artifacts are too far from the ship. try the following: select the simulator and type in the listener $.zmr=1 , then start the simulation and wait one frame. enable the smoke in the preview with range 0.9 - 10 and green color , then show us the image. this magic represents the geometry voxelization as smoke, and we can see what is wrong

Okay, sounds good. I will let the simulation finish, and then I will do this
