  • Rendering PhoenixFD aur with VRayVoumeGrid cause frame buffer hangs

    Hi,

I was simulating fire with PhoenixFD. And I would like to take advantageof new VRay 3.3 probabilistic shading, so I create VRayVoumeGrid in the scene, loading the *.aur squences. But When I hit render, this error message appear:Click image for larger version

Name:	vrayvolumegrid-error.png
Views:	1
Size:	21.2 KB
ID:	883598

And after rendering, VRay frame buffer hangs. I couldn't close it.

    I am using VRay 3.304 + PhoenixFD 2.2

    Best,

    Hey,

You have the exact same probabilistic shading in Phoenix as well - it's just not On by default - you can check it in the Environment and Effects dialogue.

The message is just a warning, you can either check 'don't show again', or go to the Volumetric Options in the Rendering panel and switch to another Fire Opacity Mode

I will check the hang in a moment. Are you on 3.30.04, or a nightly V-Ray?

    Cheers!

The hang problem disappear when I restart 3dsmax.
