Just to help you guys out and to figure out the most recent nightly of PhoenixFD that was stable with liquid simulation I installed and tested the following versions which all crashed when attempting to simulated fluids (kept grid as advanced, enabled fluids in grid and source)-
Maya PhoenixFD Nightlies that crashed when attempting to simulated fluids-
20160226
20160225
20160224
20160223
20160222
20160220
20160219
20160218
I kept on going down the list until I found the most recent version that didn't show any signs of crashing which was this one-
20160217
Hopefully that helps you guys narrow down what changed between 20160217 and 20160218 for Maya 2016 that would be causing this crash.
Best,
Clayton

Alright, same time! Just found it too - and it's almost the same thing that's causing the max and maya problem, and it's a nasty one too, doesn't reproduce every time.
Big thanks! Will be fixed for Tuesday - you may revert to before the 18th as a temporary workaround.

Hey,
So - the max crash will be fixed in tomorrow's nightly (01 Mar).
The Maya problem needed more changes though, and our tests are still running to make sure the fix will not create other issues.
@Clayton, I'm finally moving on to the texture issue - the crash is in V-Ray, so maybe the blend amount is out of range indeed... Will be back with more infoSvetlin Nikolov, Ex Phoenix team lead
