Hi Im trying to render a animation at 7560x1920 and my splash and foam looks way different than rendering at like 1500x340 I think its because im using point as a rendering method for my splash and foam. So is the only way to get it to look better at a higher res is changing the mode to like splash? or is there a way I can still use point mode and change something else?

That's right - in Point mode the particles are a pixel big by default, but you can increase their size to compensate for the resolution increase. Of course this way you will get blurred points which may or may not look god in high-res. As flipbook said, you can adjust the render-time count multiplier on the PHXFoam shader as well - this way you will get more particles without having to simulate again. Both of the above options apply if you use a nightly build.

yes, this is well known behavior of the point shader, and the reason is quite logical - the point shader represents each particle as single pixel.
there is certain way to oppose this, the screen bubble size must be smaller than a pixel, and to compensate the alpha you have to increase the ior, this is the way to keep the overall alpha and brightness,
but if you have low particle count still you will see the foam as dots not as continuous layer.Last edited by Ivaylo Katev; 02-08-2016, 11:21 PM.______________________________________________
