  • Fire suddenly goes off to the right

I have a simple setup where an object falls down over 500 frames that is on fire. On around frame 380 the object passes a "magic border" and the fire that was rising / trailing behind the object, suddenly goes off to the right, like there was a massive windforce hitting it suddenly. (think rocket enginge.) You can actually see the border clearly in the simulation. What could be the problem? I only have one wind force in the sim, and that has zero on wind and 100 on turb. Looks like a bug, but I will try it again and delete everything that is not needed for the sim and see if that helps.

I still use 2.2, could it be an old bug? I tried to install one of the latest nightlies on a similar scene, but all kinds of wierd things happened, so I reverted back again. (the emission object was emitting in two places at the same time among other things)

Any clues? Is there a floor setting I have missed?

Can you give us the scene or a simplified version if it's confidential so we can take a look?

Thank you for you quick reply. I think I have found what is causing the issue. It seems that object velocity was set to one, and my alembic files gets a super extreme reaction to it's movements. (this is what I suspect anyway.) So now I am running it again with 0 velocity and with fingers crossed, it might work.

I would like to send you guys the file anyway so you can see the issues. I'm not so savvy in Max, is there a function that gathers all assets into the file to make it easy to ship off? (alembics, textures and so on.)

      Thanks

You can save the scene as an archive and Max should pack everything into it (File > Save as > Archive)

oh, cool! I will do that. I have already sent the scene and assets off to support, but it will probably be a lot easier to make the scene work for you guys this way, so I will upload that too.
