It appears that phoenix when rendering in "Smoke" crushes opacity somewhere around .002 and I would like to turn it off since I'm trying to render a hazy room but there are voids of "0" even though there appears to actually be a little detail in the sim itself.

Where is opacity floor setting?

the parameter is hidden, select the simulator, open the listener and type $.skiptransp , this will report the opacity considered fully transparent, there is another parameter stoptransp controlling the opacity considered fully opaque. you can play with them, assigning new values $.skiptransp=....______________________________________________
