simulate on server

Hi guys,

working this time on dust and smoke for a small project in our comapny (Maya 2015 / Phoenix FD 2.2.0 Nightly). Not a big issue for me, but would be cool to know where my problem is. I cannot simulate on our server. So when I set the maya project on a location on the server I get this error message:
// Error: Phoenix FD: Can't write the simulation result!
Please check if the Output path exists and is accessible! //

Is it a problem with our servers and can I fix it somehow?

Hey,

Sounds like a permission issue, but we also did some fixes since 2.2 to the way we access paths in projects. Would it be possible for you to try out the 3.00.02 Beta and see if the issue persists?

Had a look for it in the nightly builds, but the newest version I can download is the 2.2. Is it possible to get access to the 3.0 beta for maya?

Little problem with the license server now. In the past we worked with the Phoenix 2.0 license. Do we need a new license file for the 3.0 version?
Error message in Maya:
// Error: Could not obtain a GUI license! There are no licenses available on the license server. //

Yes, Phoenix 3.0 requires update of the license.

Contact support@chaosgroup.com and the guys there will help you.

Also, make sure you have the latest license server installed: https://download.chaosgroup.com/?product=48 and check the docs on setting up the Online Licensing - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...nix+FD+License

Ok, we still have problems with the license so we switched back to the 2.2 for this project.
But I think our system administrator will send an email to the support when it's not so stressful like these days

Roger that - please do check with Support - they have a longer list with possible things that could go wrong, so they would be able to help you much easier
