  • Phoenix fd 2.2 crashes display drivers

We are using windows 10, 3ds max 2015 and phoenix 2.2 after simulation begins in about 2-3 min screen turns black then back to normal. Even viewer says this "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

We never had this problem before. By the way we are simulating smoke of a very fast moving train not sure if this might be the reason?

    Thank you

UPDATE: Seems like crash happens when the smoke is selected and visible while simulation is running. We used to always see the smoke while simulating without any problems. It is only using 20 mil grid cells with adaptive grid set to the max of 500mil.

Preview is set to 4 and we are using 1500 power supply and titan x pascal. Drivers 376.53 that windows 10 forced on us.

We also changed substeps from 1 to 2 due to high train velocity (not sure if it was necessary )

Wonder why it is doing this now.

      Hey,

If you are using GPU preview, try turning it off. Also, try increasing the preview reduction so there is less data to display and let's see how this will affect it.
