  • Slave machine problems with simulation and render

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for your help.

    A few problems/questions:

    1) How do I make my render slave participate in the simulations? I bought an simulation license for it. Does "Numa Node" have anything to do with it? It says only one available.

    2) My slave machine works perfectly with normal vray scenes with distributed rendering, although my simulations in Phoenix FD doesn't appear. I tried different outputs for the cache but it doesn't work.

Yes I installed Phoenix FD on the slave as well.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

With the additional simulation license you can send your sims to another machine to simulate. Note that this is NOT distributed simulation. You can find more about how this works in our docs - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ation+Licenses

As for the rendering part - take a look at this page - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...uted+Rendering

If you are still having some issues, send a mail to support@chaosgroup.com and they will help you out.

Hello, not to open another topic i have the following problem. At work i made a simulation on a trial version of Phoenix FD. i Want to make a presentation before the trial expires and installed the same trial on other PCs. I need this to do a distributed rendering, NOT THE SIMULATION. The simulation is on a network drive, everyone has access to it. When i click render..2 PCs dont connect at all and one other PC connects, starts the scene transfer and then the spawner of the other PC is not responding. And only my master PC is rendering alone. What could be the problem? The 2 PCs that dont connect, could be something from the admin rights. But the third one which connects but becomes not responding is with administrator privileges and dont know why the spawner freezes.

edit: never mind, i just had to wait 15 minutes for the slaves to start rendering(the time it takes my master PC to load the scene ) silly me.

Ouch! Glad it's working now, but indeed - many times the issues is that the V-Ray spawner gets started with a different Windows user than the one a person uses to log into that machine, so this way you might think you have the rights open a certain folder, but the spawner user does not...
