  • problem with splash

    Hi

I'm totally new to Phonix, I have been using RealFlow for some time, but was hoping that Phonix can give me a more simple way to create animation with ships sailing.

My first problem is to get rid of the smalle bubble (think its splashes) you can see in the render. Since there is no way to control the splash particle size, I'm a little in the dark how to get rig of them .

I have turn down the splash creation and up the foam amount, but this can really be the right way to do it

    Thanks Stefan

You can try first to change the render mode of the splashes to "Point" for an example and see how they will appear in the render. I don't know what is the exact setup for this scene, but you can have separate Particle shader for Foam and Splashes.

If you want to completely turn them off from the rendering process, then just remove it from the particle shader. Otherwise you may need to resimulate and adjust the Splash Amount or Threshold (increase it to get less particles) until you get the desired result.

      Thanks

I'm already using point and have the foam and splash in 2 different shaders (can you add material to them ? ), so now I will try to turn up the amout of splash and foam amount on hit down and see if that helps.
But I don't really understand why you have removed the possiblity to control the splash praticles size ? .
These splash particle look way to big

        Hi,
the answer to the first question is that you can not add material to the shaders. You can reduce splash size by increasing the resolution. After that you can reduce the size in the shader but that would cause more void space between them.

            Yes, grid resolution.
