  • How to let water stop wave in tank

    Hello, I filled a tank use the tap water sim, but the water always wave from left to right in the tank, how to let the water stop wave and be still ? thank you!

    Also there haven't any force in the scene, I checked off the inertial forces.

    Hello,

    A lot easier way to do this is to make a simlpe dummy object representing the liquid inside (it could be just a cylinder or you can select the inner faces of the glass,duplicate them and add a cap the top - you will need to reverse the normals as well). After this you can just right-click on the dummy object and from the Phoenix FD Properties you can select Initial Liquid Fill. This way your cup will be filled at the start of your simulation. After this just increase your resolution a bit and use 5-6 steps per frame and your liquid will settle after few frames.

      Also, check the real world size of your simulator - if it's too small, the liquid will need more time to settle. You could adjust for this using the Scene Scale option under the Dynamics rollout.
