  • Less confusing input > play start

    hi

if something got simulated between 0 - 1000 input play start works fine.

but if you simulate lets say 567 - 897 play start wont move it to what you set it to you have to take into consideration 567 frames please make it where no matter between what frame simulation was done, once you type in a certain number to input play start that is when it will start playing the simulation Thank you

huh? You set your cache start to 567 and then dictate when that plays out using the play start.. Your post is a little confusing but the way you have suggested would remove some flexibility so the current way is pretty good

Hi Still does not work. We have sim files simulated between 5400-6000 so by default sim will start play at 5400.
We need this sim to start playback at 5000. So we entered 5400 in cache start and play start we entered 5000 and nothing works.

The only way to get sim start at 5000 is to enter -400 in play start.

Would be nice if chaos can have another play start option where you can just enter 5000 or whatever frame you need and sim plays no matter at what frame it was simulated. Thank you .

Just set Cache Start=0 and Play Start=5000. This means that it would play the first cache file (no matter the index) in the folder from frame 5000. If you set Cache start=100 for example, it would play the 100th cache file as first.

            Hey,

Cache Start = 5400 and Play Start = 5000 is indeed the correct way to set it up - this means "put cache 5400 at frame 5000". Just tested it with a simple scene and seems correct here. Could you double check that? When you go to frame 5000, is there any cache info loaded in the Simulation rollout?

            Cheers!

Sorry, my fault. The way Svetlin explained it should work.

                  Lol Thank you all!
It actually did not work when I did 5400 cache and 5000 start . Now it works! 3ds max magic after restart
