I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Seems to be working with the latest nightly builds. What build are you using? Do you have the age channel exported for the particles?

Do you see the issue ? Outside life doesn't match the speed or whatever when particles leaves the grid. And if age was not exported when no outside life was working at all, right? So, the problem with simulate air effects.

Also, grid looking artifacts, that was fixed and now it appears again.

The slowdown happens when you have liquid enabled that is moving the foam. As the liquid reaches the grid's wall it dies and as it can't live outside the grid the velocity that was moving the foam and splashes is gone. Then Phoenix will interpolate the values between the velocity inside and outside the gird so it will gradually slow down the particles.
There are a few things you can try:

Turn off the liquid and simulate only the particles. Then the particles will continue with the same velocity as in the grid.
If you need liquid particles as well you can make a cascade simulator at the bottom part or just make a larger simulator.

As for the artifacts - can you send us the scene?

        Thanks,

Well, how can I mimic particles fading away then?

          edit

I emited only particles - same behavior.

Ok. For those with the same q - animate particle size mult in phxfoam shader. And it will fade out, only for bubbles/cellular tho.
