Alright, just saw what the problem is - some liquid particles get stuck for 2-3 frames before exiting the grid and this leads to particles bunching up in the back of the simulator.

Now let's see how to fix this...

Found the issue, thanks a bunch! Running some tests right now to see if everything is okay. Will ping you again when the fix will be in the nightlies.

      Cheers!

            Hello Svetlin,
So far it looks good. I am running the sim again and will know in a few days.
            Thank you!

                Hello Svetlin,

Here is my scene. Nightly 1710227779.
                Sim58.zip
Is it important that I have the liquid export turned off? I have no need to use export particles in another software, so to conserve disk space I turn on the splashes and foam only and backup interval 15.

Below is frame 350. The velocity preview shows some activity at the back of the container. Is this normal?

Still has bulge in water level... running foam now to see if it behaves.

Mmm, then I have a plan B in mind. I hope it would be able to go into tomorrow's nightly.

You don't need the liquid particles, unless you are going to retime the sequence

Hey, just an update - testing a more accurate solution right now. If all goes well, tomorrow I'll force new builds with the change. I guess the bulge at the end would still be visible with particles added in today's nightly?

                      Svetlin,
Thanks for your time on this.
I installed nightly 27781 on my workstation and farm and started the simulation, but with more export options turned on yet with a smaller container to speed up the process. I'll let you know what happens.

Hey, the new nightlies just came out - build ID 27782. There is a slight improvement on the bulging and also a hidden maxscript parameter you can use to smooth the contact between the simulator and the ocean - "oceantransitionzone". By default it's 0.1, which means the simulation height gradually blends with the ocean height towards the borders of the grid over a zone with a width of 10% of the smaller side of the simulator (in your case, of the width of the container). If you increase it further to 0.15 - 0.2, it will hide the edge at the back end of the simulator and with added displacement it should be indistinguishable from the rest of the surface. You can use this as a workaround without having to wait for the final fix, and since it's a rendering option, you won't have to simulate again. I'm testing another change right now and it would be in tomorrow's nightlies if it's working well.

                        Cheers!

Thanks! I will install the nightly and give this a run.
