  • Foam on CUDA rendering?

Is it possible to render foam from phoenixfd in vray/maya on cuda(nvidia)? if i do so, no foam is visible - does it generally not wordking or do i have to change something?

Second question - a little bit off topic - today i got a mail info about a hotfix for phoenixfd(build 3.05) is this newer/whith more funktions than the nightly build from today(3.05 Pool 1)? Nightly build (phoenixFD_adv_30403_maya2018_vray_30_x64_27833) vs hotfix for phoenixfd(build 3.05) - should'nt be the nightly builds are always the newest ones or did i misunterstood something with nightly builds? So which one is the newer/better one?

    Hey,

Negative, not yet possible - for now only RT CPU can render fire/smoke and foam, but we are working on GPU rendering as we speak

Today's nightly build has more stuff than the official 3.05 since 3.05 was built from code from a few days ago and underwent testing before begin released. However, the nightlies might not be stable, while official builds are tested more thoroughly so they should contain fewer potential issues and be safer to use for production.

    Cheers!
