  • Setting limit on Foam and Splash Particles?

    Hello,

First thanks for your help on this forum, it's very useful.

I'm new to Phoenix and I've been struggling with this sim file, I have one fire sim interacting with a water sim. Problem is even with my settings, it's creating a lot of particles for foam and splash. When I render these parts it brings my computer to it's knees with excessively long renders on that section in the lower left section of the viewport.
    1. Is there a way to limit how many foam and splash particles are generated or better settings? Or a way for VRAY to simplify those buckets? I've tried reducing samples and motion blur and that helps, but it's not enough.
    2. Also when I change a setting for foam and splash, do I have to resim the entire sequence or a backup frame on the troublesome section of the animation?

    Thank you,
    Cyril

    Hey,

    There are two options:
    - You can reduce the Splash Amount and you'll have to simulate again.
    - ... or you can tell the Particle Shader to skip some splash particles and not render them - check the Count Multiplier on the shader which renders the splashes
