  • Unable to render with render nodes.

I just installed the latest release builds of VRay and Phoenix. We have 2 workstations, and 7 render nodes. The 2 workstations are also on the render farm when we're not using them. When we submit a job to the farm, the 2 workstations run fine, but the phoenix render nodes don't. We get an adapter error: ..... vrayhplugins\phoenixfd.dlr failed to initialize"

I've uninstalled and reinstalled both VRay and Phoenix, but haven't had any luck. Again, this ONLY with installs setup for render nodes.

I suppose you tried to install with administrator privileges.

Installed the latest nightly, and it seems to have fixed it.

        Hi,

"phoenixfd.dlr failed to initialize" means that the Phoenix FD plugin could not be loaded and the reason for this is usually a mismatch between the versions of V-Ray and Phoenix FD.
Please have in mind that all the builds on the downloads section from the official release of Phoenix FD are for V-Ray 3 since V-Ray Next is still in beta. If you have V-Ray Next you must use the nightlies of Phoenix FD that have 'vray4' in their names, but also you have to know that the nightlies that came out before February 24 are compatible with V-Ray Next Beta 1 and those from that day on are compatible with V-Ray Next Beta 2, as announced here.
Builds meant for different version of the beta will not be compatible, so you may have the same situation with the next beta or official release of V-Ray.

Hope you have a nice time simulating.
