  • grid visible on oceanmesh

On the renders of my ocean you can see some sort of grid.
The simulation itself is made with a slightly older version of phoenix and rendered with the latest version.
My ocean subdiv is 4 (tried 8 and no difference)

    In the texture:
    detail level:10
    sharpness: 0.9

added a full render and a close up from that render.

Is there a setting I missed that creates this grid?

Hey, are these the foam particles or the ocean mesh itself?

If these are particles, try increasing the storage quality from the Output rollout.

If this is the mesh, then:
    - See if you are using a Fade Volume for the displacement. If so, try a latest nightly - there were some artifacts that we fixed.
    - See if you get these artifacts if the displacement is disabled. If this is so, then we need to look further in the issue.

Btw, when you say latest version, do you mean the official 3.10, or a latest nightly? Can you try to simulate and render with a latest nightly and check if the issue is still there?

    Cheers!

It seems I found a solution for it.
Within Phoenix I loaded the standard render preset.
After that i set everything back to ocean mesh and displacement.

The grid like artifacts are gone.

Hmm, well, if we can fix this in all cases it would be great. Do you still keep the old scene so we can have a look at it and find what was wrong?
