  • Jumping horizon (Phoenix ocean)

Hi Why does horizon jump up and down where the ocean ends (on the left) it is barely noticeable but still. We do have camera target linked to the phoenix grid that is animated to match movement of the boat. The actual camera is animated. Phoenix grid is manually animated and not linked to the boat because boat goes up and down on waves. is there way to make horizon less responsive to camera movement,. Thank you

Hmm, yes, this could be because the ocean is always built in camera space, so the horizon is always on the exact boundaries between pixels. However, the actual horizon should be on some fractional value instead, so in animation the horizon abruptly snaps between pixels. If that is the case right now, the only solution I can think of would be to render in higher resolution, but this will surely eat up a lot of memory, so it might not be an option...
