  • Ocean grid border

Hi I tried everything ocean subd value, texture texture, tiling, level of detail but border is still visible. What should I adjust to make it seamless?
i attached the grid with one sim through we transfer Download link

Also not sure why I cannot have tiling set to 1 like in the tutorial. When I set to 1 ocean is smooth even though dimensions are correct

PS It almost looks like water inside the grid is darker similar to another post about dark grid water. Also camera angle and sun position play a big role. Can we get auto grid match for 100% seamless ocean?

    Thanks

    UPDATE:
just found out from the post bellow https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...-reflects-less that grid should not have any rotation and must be perfectly aligned to the world. Maybe that's the problem. ill have to resim to find out

      Hey,

      A few things to note.

In your scene looks like you have used wave force to generate some waves so even without the Phoenix Ocean texture as a displacement there are waves in the simulator. Unfortunately we still can't match those with the ocean, but we have it in mind and I hope we will have a fix for that soon. This is why you can't match the simulator and the ocean. If you go without the waves and rely only on the displacement - it should work as expected.
Your ocean subdiv value is set to 0.7 - which is quite low. Generally you will need to increase this value in order to match the simulator displacement with the the displacement outside.

As for the tiling of the Phoenix Ocean Texture - you have set the Control by Wind speed to off. If you turn it back on you can set the tiling back to 1.

Thank you! I did have waveforce in the scene and forgot to delete it.

As far as subdivision if it is set to 2 Octane takes at least 2 min to process geometry each frame before actual rendering. Not sure why
