  • Cascade troubles

In playing with this waterfall thing, I decided to try the cascade option.
The problem that I identify is that I had the one large grid settings worked out to satisfaction and I thought I could simply create copies of that and resize them,
to better fit the flow and save some particles.
However this seems to create a problem - the copies keep simming exactly the same thing as the original and can't be reset that I can see.
The reason I want copies is that I want to keep the settings the same without having to go through the original and make notes of what they are - that's a real pain.
Am I missing something or is it that this is simply not possible right now? Maybe there is a way to implement a 'save grid settings' option?

    Hey,

When you copy the simulators - make sure that their input and output paths are pointing to some other location (name) compared to the original.
Another thing you can do is to use the simulation presets - in the Simulation rollout there is a button "Simulation presets" - from there you can save and load the sim settings.

I can't get this to work as it should, so I must be missing something. Please take a look at this simple file setup to let me know which step is incorrect. Thanks

Seems to be working fine in here. It's just that your bottom simulator is open the liquid goes straight through it. You can jam the walls in the grid rollout and it should work

          Cheers!

Oh...I could have sworn I check that. Thanks for letting me know. It's one of those things that as soon as I have it working once, it will make sense

Don't forget to raise the step size also to give a smooth join between the grids.
