    the system with both a ocean and foam texture is very hard to control. And why the need for the color correction map and the need to put in values and map in the right order ?

    I assume you are rendering with V-Ray in 3ds Max and are looking at this setup in the docs? https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...BlendSetup.png

    You can see that the color correction copies the RGB, but forces the Alpha to 1 - this is needed by the VRayBlend material - you can see that the Scanline setup does not use a Color Correction node. If you plug the Foam tex straight into the V-Ray blend material, you will see that the effect won't behave correctly when the alpha of the foam tex affects the blend.
