  • Displace affect foam and splashes.

When turning on the ocean displacement there is sometimes a chance that a big wave will displace the mesh over the foam so the foam no longer is visible on the ocean surface. The velocity based fade out helps some, but not always. Especialle for long wakes. Would it be a good idea to also displace the foam and other effects?

the foam is automatically displaced by the mesh displacement, but you have to select the simulator in the liquid slot of the foam shader.
if you accept the suggestion for automated foam shader creation, this is done by the system, but if you create the foam shader by hand, you have to select the simulator in the liquid slot.

Ahh, obviously I had missed that one. And this happens at rendertime only I realize, it's not affecting the particle preview in the viewport (yet)!! Looking forward to the release of version 3! It will be a bit easier when you guys update the documention and hopefully make more awesome tutorials!
      Thanks Ivaylo!!

yes, it affects the rendering but not the preview, because it takes some time to be calculated.
about the docs, actually this behavior is the same in 2.2, but is not explicitly mentioned in the docs, perhaps we have to add few words about the displacement in the liquid slot description.

That's right - the viewport particles are not displaced yet (they are in Maya though, we will equalize those soon).

          Cheers!
