  • Previous Sim Grid Size

Regarding liquid containers (and probably also fire/smoke)

When connecting a liquid container to a previous sim via the output/input path, it could be handy to have PFD optionally offer to resize the container/cell size to match the recently connected data.

    Just a wishlist thought

    Thanks!

Can you give us a more detailed explanation what would exactly do you want to do? Load a cache as initial state and resize the grid accordingly?

I imagined it to be an alternative to simulation presets tool. For example, if you create a default liquid container that's 10x10x10 with a cell size of 0.5 as a starting point, then load in a previously simulated cache, it could read the grid dimensions and cell size of that incoming cache and offer to apply those parameters to the container so it is now 142x120x35 with a cell size of 0.03 and matches the incoming cache data. Alternatively, if I were able to optionally load in all of the settings associated with a previous simulation automatically, that would be the ultimate. It's like an automatic version of the simulation presets tool that loads when connecting a previously simulated cache.

This is just a small time-saving thing because I often find myself looking back to the old scenes to save out presets and re-apply them manually.
