  • Temporary Simulation to SSD drive then auto copy to shared network location

    with regards to this thread

    https://forums.chaosgroup.com/showth...942#post734942

And another thread pointing out HD speeds and memory are a large bottle-neck for PFD simulations.

I would request that we have an option to "simulate to local drive C: and then copy to the correctly set up network location" option.

to make things easier for users is obviously a consideration here - so when we have chosen to mapped drive where our sims are to be stored so they can be rendered on a network, it would be great to have a toggle so that the computer will simulate to the local SSD drive.

Surely that will speed things up?

    Thanks for the suggestion!

At the moment I think you could implement this manually by setting a MAXScript that copies all caches during the OnSimulationEnd Phoenix callback: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/PHX3MAX/MaxScript

    Cheers!
