  • VrayDecal Displacement mapping

    Hey guys

I was just playing a bit around with the newly supported displacement maps wit V-ray decal - overall it seems to work good so far!
I was however wondering: Right now, i can apply a displacement map to the material that is on the vraydecal - but when doing so, you're now limited to the Default Displacement settings under system, so
now you don't have options like "Keep continuity" water level or shifting like you would using a VrayDisplacement modifier, which seems a bit limiting in where i can use the feature.

Would it be possible to control vrayDecal displacement via the Vraydisplacement modifier, so that you can control each decals displacement setting individually rather than the limited global settings under system which applies for all materials?

For the moment, if you want these options, you need to add a VRayDisplacementMod modifier to the object. Displacement is really a geometry property; if those parameters were in the material then it’s not clear how to handle conflicting values f.e. if one material would have keep continuity disabled and another one - enabled.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
