VRay 5 and VRay 6 VFB problem

Hi,

I have this problem in VRay 5 and in VRay 6 beta too.
I am rendering the image and hit the stop button. When render stops Denoiser layer and Lens effects layes hide itself. So I have to manual unhide them and after that I can save the image. It is annoying.

Hello,

It depends on the way you stop the render. In the Max render progress dialog there are two buttons - Stop and Cancel:
- Stop means stop rendering, finish any post render processes (such as denoising and lens effects) and save files.
- Cancel means stop rendering and don't do any post render processes

For historical reasons (older versions of Max didn't have the 'Stop' button) - the button in the VFB is actually equal to the Cancel button so it doesn't do any post render processes. Because of that - the denoiser and lens effects are not calculated and hidden since they might contain older results.

And when I render with IPR, how can I cancel it with all posts on?

There's no such option for IPR.

It is pretty annoying when I stop IPR every time enable layers by hand

Yes, it is pretty annoying. +1 for a change to the current behavior, if possible. I wonder how many people really care about the differences between stop and cancel.

It would be a problem if denoising + sharpen/blur + lens/effects take more time and you want to quickly cancel the render and modify something.

Hm, good point there! Though I don't remember the last time I've waited more than a few seconds for these effects to calculate.

I use PSD Manager and saving takes time. Canceling is great for me since I don't have to wait for it stops.

I probably never wait more then a few seconds even in high resolution. If I have to wait its caused by a big scene and RAM not because of those effects has to be calculated. For me when I stop the render I want to see it in its final look.
