  • Background color affecting in png render

    Hello,

    When I render and save as png image, with different background color, then the selected color is affecting on the boundaries of the object in rendered image.

    please find the attached image. I have selected red color as background color, zoom in the image, you can see red color is affecting the boundary.

    I am using 3ds Max 2018 and Vray app sdk 4.3 version.

    I searched in this forum also, tried related with premultiplied alpha, but getting same result.

    What may be the issue?

    Regards,
    Gopinath.

    Hi Gopinath,
    Can you give us more info? How do you add the background color? E.g. do you do it in the vrscene or in the VFB? And don't you think it's the expected behavior when you save the finally composed image? I can see that the fully transparent background color in your picture has in fact red color too.

      Hi Stan,

      Thanks for the reply. I am adding in vrscene using SettingsEnvironment plugin.

      Here is the settings got from vrscene file.

      SettingsEnvironment environment {
      bg_tex=AColor(1, 0, 0, 1);
      gi_tex=AColor(0, 0, 0, 1);
      gi_tex_mult=1;
      reflect_tex=AColor(0, 0, 0, 1);
      reflect_tex_mult=1;
      refract_tex=AColor(0, 0, 0, 1);
      refract_tex_mult=1;
      use_gi=1;
      use_reflect=1;
      use_refract=1;
      }

      yes, it is expected, but just wanted to know is there anyway to overcome this. Other renderer engine also giving same like this.

      Also, can you please explain how to add through VFB?

      Regards,
      Gopinath.
