  • Understanding benchmark results

I'm comparing a new processor with my current one.

Current processor's benchmark score is 12643
    Potential new one is 24960

Is it fair to say that the new processor will rendering twice as fast on the benchmark scene, assuming no other differences/bottlenecks?

Also wondering how faster RAM and asset drives could potentially help with rendering time if anyone can shed light on that?

    Hey thomas_bussey

Make sure you swap the scores to average, this will give you better idea of how this CPU performs out of box
Keep in mind that some scores could be unreasonably high because of overclocking, fast RAM and other factors. So best is to judge based on average scores, not the highest score you could find

Yes I took a median result, ignoring any outliers
