  • Gainward RTX 5090 LOW Scores problem!!

    Hi.

Testing RTX 5090 Gainward phantom with V-ray Benchmark.

My results are pretty bad unfortunately. My score is 10.500pt and average tests show above 15.000. ( see photos).

    My spec:
Threadripper 3970x, 160Gb ram (2133Mhz), newest Nvidia drivers.GPU connected to 1200w PSU pcie5.1 600w cable so no power problem. Looking for any solution.

Should i update motherboard BIOS? It is from 2020...
Can You recommend any other benchmarks? Maybe its fault of V-ray benchmark.... so I could test it too

    hello,

I've been struggling with Blackwell issues since January. I'm not surprised at all that Nvidia has delayed the release of these products. And they're still delaying, and the 5090 is really limited in stock (despite all the issues)

I will try to solve your problem (partially). I have good and bad news.
I assume that you are using Windows 10 (not Enterprise) without a modified GPU BIOS. In my opinion, on Windows 10 (not Enterprise) we can solve the limit that comes from the operating system only when we use a modified BIOS, but I do not recommend it.

I know that Windows 11 is a big shit, but unfortunately I was not able to solve this problem in a different way.
Maybe vlado has some joker up his sleeve, because for example Vantage works like a charm with NVIDIA 50 series on 10 pro.
Now I will give some examples:
Watt consumption and result of different video cards that I tested these days.
on 5090 GPU reached 441 watts on win 11 and 356 watts on win 10 (both systems pro) We talk about 25% difference in power (and performance 43%)...
Of course, the results are similar to yours under windows 10 and similar to the test - which you show. Here is a screenshot.

The sad news is that even when rendering with the latest version of V-Ray, the results are with a huge difference under 10 and 11. That is, vlado and the team must take very urgent measures to eliminate the problem.

I also did a similar test with 5080, 5070Ti, 5070, 5060Ti... Here the situation is the same. (With series 40 or earlier all works really fine.. but with the new models.. is really sad!)
In win10 the result of RTX 5080 is look as 7,6k VPaths.. but in windows 11 the result is closed to RTX 4090! (with less power consumption. It's a shame there's no 5080 with 24GB of vRAM but hope in next version 4080Ti or 4080 Super.. ecc NVIDIA will solve this sad situation!)
I think that colleagues from Chaos should think very seriously about this situation. Because the problem is not only in the operating system (as I said with Vantage under win 10 - the problem is not present)

You can see the differences win 10 vs win 11...

if we are going to comment - we see a HUGE difference of 45% with the 5090, we go through a difference of 20-22% with the 5080 and 5070ti, until we get to the small differences of 10-15% with GPUs like the 5070 or 5060ti

I hope I was helpful and I apologize for not appearing on the forum, but I simply don't have any physical time.
