  • Does not run on a fresh system install with GTX 660 Ti

    Hi,

I recently had to reinstall my windows installation and was looking forward to trying out the Benchmark, but after the License screen I only get the splash screen for a second and then the program quits. Same thing happens when I try to run the CLI version - license agreement, installation of files and then immediately uninstallation.

    I run a Win 10 Pro 64-bit, version 10.0.17134.765, a GTX 660 Ti and a Xeon X5460.

Does anyone have any idea, what the problem might be?

Same happens here, if you install 3Ds Max which contains Visual C++Libraries, it will run just fine
or maybe some other missing component. I have never been able to run this tool after fresh install of windows

Did you update Windows to the latest update? As Muhammed wrote, Windows updates contain lots of needed components, VC++ libraries including.

        Hi all,

Thank you for the answers. I have installed VC++ 2008 through 2015 from this list https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...al-c-downloads but to no avail.

I welcome any other suggesions as to what the critical component might be (these could maybe be listed in the future on the Download page as a list of Prerequisities?)

Seems that I missed this when looking at the topic, but your CPU doesn't support SSE 4.2, so V-Ray Next based application won't run on it. Also, 600 Ti has Kepler Architecture, and Nvidia dropped the Kepler support since 410 drivers, so effectively it cannot be used with V-Ray Next either.

Muhammed_Hamed , when was the last time you tried running the application after a fresh install? The latest hotfix release - V-Ray Benchmark 4.10.06, no longer requires C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio.

              Hi daniel.taskoff
I was using vray-benchmark-4.10.03, I didn't know that there was a new build.
I will try again tonight on a machine with a fresh copy of windows 1903
Will let you know how it goes.
