this is not the new skylight feature but the HDRI dome, where you can attached an hdri to the vray Dome light.

Actually it is a new skylight feature, Vlado said it is based on this http://www.cs.utah.edu/vissim/papers/sunsky/

Yes that's what I thought too, he said: "Here are some images from the sun/sky system so far:" and then those images.

Well as far as i know this is the dome light with an hdri map, mapped to it.
Not a sun and sky system.. But hey i may be wrong..

Hey natty, indeed vlado made the dome light mappable with a hdri, but I really think he means something else with this sun/sky system. He's talking about it, referring to that paper about sun/sky. The images posted really look like the shadows come from a 'vray sun', not from a dome hdri like your example. Why would he call it a sun/sky system if its actually nothing more than hdri lighting?

it was all in conjunction with someone asking vlado for a feature like maxwells sun/sky and vlado admitted to having it in already then proceeded to show us some tests.
