A single dongle costs $30 + shipping. The exact price will be indicated on the online dongle request form
seems pretty clear. im assuming this is USD.

It seems that the dongle has the number of licenses hard coded in it. Is that the case? It seems odd. Every time you order 3 new copies, you need a new USB key.

No, of course. We should have added this to the list; a dongle can be upgraded to increase the number of licenses stored in it. However, you cannot downgrade a dongle (remove licenses from it).

                A couple more questions:

-what if you loose the dongle, or what if it gets stolen?
-will I request a dongle from Chaosgroup or from our local supplier? (I have one licence ordered through internet, one through a local reseller and need two dongles)
-how much (additional) memory does the key contain? can it be used to store data?
-what's the physical size of the key, is it small enough not to obstruct other ports?
You can contact StudioGijs for 3D visualization and 3D modeling related services and on-site training.

                    - if a dongle gets stloen or lost - you will need to purchase a new one. we can grant you a temp license online

                    - all dongles are ordered through ChaosGroup. We will figure our the best possible way of supplying it via your reseller or any other way.

                    - the dongle can not be used for anything other than authorization of vrlservice, which will authorize both v-ray and aura.

                    - the key does not obstruct other ports even when they are close to each other. more info : www.wibu.com

I definitly think that the dongle is a bad thing, this is the begining of lot of problems of autorisation and of loose money for us.
Ok may be this is a good protection but for how many time.........
You know that the result is always the same for protection.
I remember the bad experiences with max and acad dongle killed by electricity, loose, broken etc...
waiting for a dongle by the old post way.

ps: Vlado check your email an pm svp.

well if its broken they will replace it. when your waiting you can still work with the online liscence server. sure a dongle isnt the best of protections. they never said it was. but it is a good one and has more benifits (for example portability) the dongle system and the online system will be put through good testing im sure.

Priad, I think you have not read carefully what has been written.

                              1. we provide online authorization system for immediate use. provided your office has internet access.

                              2. the new dongles are faaar better than the old ones. for very many reasons.

                              3. waiting for a dongle for 1-2 days while being able to work - is that too long?
