Hope to see nice beta rendering.
I've emailed to local reseller several times, but they didn't answer yet.
I have to wait some more days. They are all lazybones and they don't consider a personal user.
Still a supporter, but no longer an early adopter and still disappointed.
I also don't have an issue with paying for the upgrade just have an issue with
the way early adopters are not getting a break. Still waiting for my email response "NONE YET"
I guess i was ignored
I to am an early adopter of Vary RT, and also dissatisfied with with upgrade price i have to pay.
So I sent an email to vray@chaosgroup.com about two days ago hoping for a break
but never got a response back. I was given a great break from another 3DS Max plugin company
that i wont mention here after they discontinued the version i used to only the basic or expensive version.
I been a supporter of Vray since day one.
I´ve bought Vray and RT in January. In December, there will be no new Version of Vray-RT exept when I upgrade to Vray2.0 (then with new RT included)? Is that right?
...is about. Does it mean it only loads tiles it sees?
Yes.
Does it do mip-mapping so it loads distant tiles at lower resolution?
Yep, so long as the tiled OpenEXR file includes mip-map levels. There is a tool provided for conversion of the most common image formats (PNG, JPG etc) into tiled OpenEXR files with mip-map data.
Just saw the feature list of Vray 2.0 here (vray.info).
Wondering if this particular feature is the counterpart of the Maya one which it only address the direct contribution of selected light or it is a new feature in Vray where each light's indirect contribution is separated into own RE_Light_Select?
- VRayLightSelect render element to extract the contribution of individual lights;
Hi , i bought my vray license while travelling , in my country there is no vray reseller , the question is , how will i be able to upgrade to vray 2.0 .
can it be done online ?
I work for a larger corporation, so we'll get it eventually. I'm still not happy about it though. RT has never been worth the money in my opinion, and STILL doesn't work properly. 90% of my early crashes are related to RT, if I even choose to use it.
Generally, in my workflow the only use i can find is the very beginning, tweak a few lights previewed by RT (maybe 1 hour of work turned into 30 minutes by RT). Then I can't use RT anymore because the features, if supported at all, won't match the final render.
Is 30 minutes per project worth it? Not in my book.
I really hope the new version is a little better and didn't just add GPU to the lineup. I tested that also....not impressed. It's got the same problem every other GPU render has. The mouse doesn't work for Squat. The actual renders happen faster, but if you can't use the mouse as good then your productivity goes down, so makes it somewhat pointless.
