  • Forest Pack Lite/Pro 4.0.1

I am glad to announce the release of Forest Pack 4, both Lite and Pro versions.

You can check out some of the new features in the video below, the complete list of changes in the Release Notes, and more videos specifically of VRayRT (courtesy of ChaosGroup) here.

Registered users can download the upgrade from the User Panel. The Lite version are freely available to download in our website.

Wonderful update! Group support is fantastic news.... really great. And the slope curve control is excellent, too.

This plugin has really revolutionised the way I work and made my job a lot easier. Good work!

Thats an excellent update, great features and some great new presets and library.
One question regarding the video, what kind of graphic card did you use for those VRayRT examples?

btw, i had to add the map pathes for forest manually, would be nice if the installer would add them automatically.

        Thanks for your cumpliments !

In the Forest 4 video we used VRayRT by CPU. I don't know what configuration used ChaosGroup for their tests, you could ask them in their thread.

About the presets texture path, Forest should add it automatically, but is not working correctly if Forest 3 was installed previously. This problem is already fixed for the next update.

Here's a project we very recently finished that we made extensive use of Forest Pack Pro (and VRay too of course!).

            http://atelieryork.co.uk/Prince-Sattam-Park

I can say that without Forest I don't think this project would have worked. At least not the way it did. I can't even remember how many unique tree, rock, small stone and people objects there were in each scene and how many proxies but it was a very considerable amount and Forest handled it as if it was nothing at all. We had a very short period of time to complete the project so this made all the difference in our pipeline. And this was with Forest 3.4 as well, so I can't wait to put 4 to good use! Particularly group support...!

Amazing project . I'm glad our software is useful for you.

I just forwarded your post to our marketing head, it is nice candidate for our gallery.... if you like, of course.

No, sorry. In Forest there are many features that are highly dependent of Max.

That's too bad, perhaps as a long term idea would be great to have a standalone which can be used in many apps. Maya really could use a good scatter tool
